We have assembled a diverse team (by skills, experience and verticals) that focuses obsessively on solving business problems and creating solutions to meet those challenges.
Max is passionate about leveraging data science to turn data into solutions that drive real business value. As an executive thinker and analytics expert, he’s adept at identifying problems and creating processes for solution development.
Max spent 15 years in analytics playing various roles at HSBC, Nationwide Insurance, Alliance Data, and Lincoln Financial Group, and Nutrisystem. At each company he played a key role driving business change. He has created analytics strategic roadmaps, developed analytics capability and teams, and executed all phases of analytics to make business decisions.
Outside of work, Max likes reading, traveling and playing table tennis.
Neil is passionate about creating innovative solutions for challenging problems. He thrives on working alongside motivated colleagues and building processes to create positive business change.
Neil has spent more than 20 years working with financial services companies using analytics and digital tools to transform large and medium sized organizations. He is skilled at delivering transformation analytics, data visualization driven products, and selling solutions at the C-suite level. He also has strong global experience.
Neil has an M.S. in Operations Research from Virginia Tech and MBA from Chicago Booth. Outside of work, Neil spends time with his children and exercising (especially swimming).
Larry loves solving business problems. He likes developing healthy teams and delivering powerful solutions. As COO, he enjoys being involved in all aspects of building a company.
As a specialist in information technology roles, Larry has spent 30 years as a chief information officer of application development. 15 of those years were spent in the insurance industry, working with property and casualty products, life insurance, group plans, and annuities.
Larry has been with QuaEra for four years. Before that he spent 13 years with Dun & Bradstreet and 15 years with MetLife.
Outside of work, Larry is a family man who’s active in his church. He’s a sports fan who likes to golf.
Gaurav founded QuaEra with an intent to build a world class organization. As a born problem solver, he wants to create client offerings that solve the toughest problems. He hires the smartest people who can help him transform businesses.
Gaurav specializes in consumer banking and credit risk and innovative data science. He started his analytics career at Capital One and has been a senior leader and partner at two consulting firms where he built analytics practices.
After work, Gaurav enjoys reading, puzzles, cricket, and following world affairs.
For 37 years, Richard has been applying his strategic planning and long range econometric modeling to Fortune 100 companies. He believes that “consulting is the essence of pure thought converted to action.”
Richard has experience working with the entire credit lifecycle. He was the Chief Risk Officer for two global divisions of a financial services firm and two divisions of a major bank, as well as a Chief Loan Officer.
Richard has many hobbies outside of the work, including photography and videography, woodworking, cooking, brewing, and antique car restoration.
Amy has 25 years in leadership and C-suite roles at AXA, Citi, E*TRADE, and American Express, and more recently as an advisory board member, consultant and seed stage investor. She brings a pragmatic, innovative and unfettered approach to businesses whose priority is sustainable growth.
Amy specializes in finding and strengthening the customer levers in business models and positioning brands to connect with customer needs. She’s adept at establishing accountable marketing programs/teams and defining digital and innovation strategies.
At Citi, Amy led the digital transformation of Citi Cards, one of the world’s largest consumer franchises, and pioneered secure e-commerce payments, contactless payments in the NYC subway system, and mobile peer-to-peer payments. At AXA, she launched the brand, built transformational marketing capabilities, and implemented a digital strategy to align distribution to the needs of core client segments. At E*TRADE, she created an innovation platform that reengaged employees to define client-centric business opportunities, incorporating behavioral economic principles.
A New Jersey resident, Amy is writing a book, growing an organic vegetable garden, and engaging in efforts to improve her community.
Surya is a statistician who loves combining mathematical theory with modern computing powers to create statistical tools that impact scientific research. As an educator and mentor to bright young people, he enjoys the freedom that comes with an academic position and the opportunity to be a part of intellectually charged academia.
Surya specializes in nonparametric statistics and Bayesian inference. He builds stochastic models for unknown quantities that look like curves, surfaces, or more complex function type objects, and works out mathematical guarantees on how much one can learn about these quantities from limited and noisy data. He designs inference techniques under the Bayesian paradigm, mostly utilizing advanced stochastic computation techniques.
Surya has a PhD in Statistics from Purdue University. He worked as the Morris H DeGroot Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University, and joined Duke University in 2009. He lives in North Carolina with his wife and daughter. He enjoys painting, graphic arts, outdoor sports, and reading about biology and astrophysics.
As a problem solver, Peter fits right in at QuaEra. He enjoys taking each client’s unique objectives and working them to create innovative solutions.
Peter spent 48 years working in the insurance industry, primarily in underwriting and reinsurance sales and marketing. He specializes in impaired risk underwriting and marketing. He is a member of the Impaired Risk Underwriting Association.
Outside of work, Peter enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking. He has a passion for Corvettes.
